Education Support

We promote equitable education access for marginalized children, using sports as a bridge to learning.
Goal: Empower youth through creative, vocational, and holistic education using a sports-based approach.
Game Connect Africa enhances the creative power of the youth through empowerment with skills and competences that are crucial for a flourishing world. The Sports approach to education finds viable solutions for sustainability, starting from the young generation mobilizing their desire to act in societal transformation. By broadening soft skills, vocational skilling, fostering systems thinking, and providing the necessary tools to help students discover their talents and values so that they can actively participate in local transitions.

Through our community health facility, we ensure increased access to comprehensive, quality, and equitable health services to the most vulnerable through on site, community out reaches and health camps.
Our community health approach is concerned with the health of all the people across the life course. This approach presents an opportunity for GCA to strengthen Community Health services within our areas of operation.

Goal: Strengthen child protection systems and empower children to engage in their communities.
Our Child Protection and participation interventions aim to strengthen social safety nets protecting children and youth from abuse and exploitation and increase access to legal support and civil restitution for vulnerable children and their households. Through our approach, different clubs are being established to support children’s participation and active engagement.

Sports Ministry

Goal: Use sports as a tool for evangelism, discipleship, and community engagement.
The World has become more resistant to traditional forms of ministry. Sports attempts to go where traditional evangelism has not been effective in reaching the lost.
Sports connect with people and move towards active discipleship. Sports evangelism plays a vital role in attracting the secularized and the ‘unchurched’; it primarily reaches two missing groups in the Church (men and youth) and it fulfills church growth principles.
Activities:
- Weekly Sports Discipleship Programs: Devotionals and Bible study sessions integrated into training or after matches.
- Faith & Football Camps: Sports camps with preaching, prayer sessions, and worship nights.
- Testimony Tournaments: Allow players to share testimonies during half-time or at the end of games.
- Coach as a Mentor Program: Equip coaches to be both spiritual and athletic mentors.
- Church vs Community Matches: Encourage fellowship and build trust through friendly games.
- Scripture Sports Cards: Distribute cards with Bible verses and sports messages of hope.
Livelihood

Goal: Improve household incomes through agriculture, small businesses, and VSLAs.
Improving household incomes through agriculture and small businesses remain our primary income drivers. The income gains are further augmented through the Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), which help partner households pool savings for necessities and invest in income-generating activities. Better hygiene, sanitation and health reduce income expenditure on healthcare and quality of life, thereby providing higher savings and time availability. The resulting, measurable impact is documented through our data-informed and integrated approach.
Activities:
- Agricultural Training Workshops: Teach best practices in farming, climate-smart agriculture, and kitchen gardening.
- Start-Up Kits Distribution: Provide seeds, tools, or small capital to kickstart agricultural or business ventures.
- VSLA Formation & Training: Train community members on forming and managing Village Savings and Loan Associations.
- Household Economic Empowerment Plans: Conduct household assessments and create tailored support roadmaps.
- Business Skills Bootcamps: Cover topics like financial literacy, record-keeping, and marketing.
- Livelihood Monitoring Visits: Regular check-ins to offer mentorship and collect progress data.
- Showcase Days/Markets: Allow participants to display and sell products in community exhibitions or fairs.
